About Us

The Orion Sports Group was founded in 2008. This private venture includes 4 partners with a
wealth of Recreation and Sport experience.

Bill Halma - 27 years of experience in recreation programming at the U of L. 20 years of
officiating experience in basketball, football, soccer; at the high school, college and adult level;
founder of SOFA.

Frank Huss - 17 years of experience in adult and youth recreation programming in various cities
in two countries, the past 12 years at The U of L. Over 30 years of active involvement in soccer at
both the community and post-secondary level — as player, coach, official and administrator.

Mike Whipple - 15 years of experience in managing Customer Service at the Uof L. Over 25
years of active involvement in soccer and football at the high school and post-secondary level —
as player, coach, and official.

Scott Whiteside - 29 years of experience in coaching, instructing and managing recreational
gymnastim and clmbing, the last 7 years at The U of L.
